Nintendo had a walloping number of announcements this morning, but we figured we’d start with one that will no doubt be a fan favorite – the return of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker!
The game, which originally debuted on the GameCube with a controversial (yet eventually beloved) cel-shaded art style, will be re-released within the next few months for the Wii U.
Players will be able to play Wind Waker entirely on the GamePad, with display switching intact, and also features updated high-definition graphics and Miiverse integration, though it wasn’t explained just how your character will be involved with Link’s adventure. Other touch-ups will be made to enhance your adventure, though Nintendo didn’t quite clarify exactly what will entail from that.
Wind Waker Wii U is being offered in the wake of a new Legend of Zelda HD announcement, as that game currently doesn’t have a release date. More on this forthcoming title is expected to be announced this summer at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
