With The Last of Us Part II director, Neil Druckmann, being so active on Twitter lately showing off behind-the-scenes looks, including the final scene being wrapped as far as filming mo cap goes, interest is high as for when the highly anticipated sequel will actually debut. According to one retailer, it’s coming this September.
ProGamingShop is a Slovakian gaming store that has The Last Of Us Part II poised for a September 28th release for this year. While it does fall on a Friday, which is a good release date that most developers favor, and it is during the Fall gaming line-up, the September release date doesn’t seem to match up with previous reports that the game will be debuting in October and even in November. Still, it would be better for everyone for it to come earlier, because this is one sequel that has a beloved fan base just waiting to get their hands on it.
Just like with all leaks, take the above information with a grain of salt – no matter how credible. It’s always important, and wise, to accept these reports as fact only after the developers themselves have confirmed it. Things change, human error is definitely possible, and sometimes – people just make stuff up. Regardless of the motive, leaks aren’t the most reliable so it’s important to keep a clear head when they begin to emerge.
For now, it’s all just speculation, though hopefully Sony will have more to reveal soon about the PlayStation 4 exclusive.
For more about the game according to the game’s official synopsis, “Ellie is now 19 and has found a semblance of peace and normality living in Jackson. She’s had a chance to be a teenager and forge lasting relationships. When that peace is disrupted by a violent act, Ellie is thrust into a brutal journey of retribution, fueled by a need to bring those that have wronged her to justice, pushing her to her very limits.”
