by Nicholas Barth

There were plenty of exciting reveals that took place during the September 24th PlayStation State of Play. However, it would be hard to argue that any of them were more impressive than the two reveals that took place for the highly anticipated title of The Last of Us Part II. These two reveals consisted of the confirmation for the release date of the game and the return of fan-favorite character Joel.

It was announced during the latest PlayStation State of Play that players will be able to dive into the exciting world of The Last of Us Part II on February 21st, 2020.

The trailer during the State of Play showed Ellie on a quest for revenge against a group of individuals who brutally murdered her partner in front of her. It is ultimately revealed at the end of the newest trailer for The Last of Us Part II that Joel will be returning to the popular series. A mysterious figure grabs Ellie and has their hand over her mouth. Ellie resists at first but soon realizes it is the one and only Joel. However, she does not have a warm welcome for the man who saved her life in the previous game and asks why he is there. Joel responds that he would never let her do something like this by herself.

Two worthwhile editions of the title were also revealed on September 24th to the joy of fans. The Collector’s and Ellie Editions will be the dream items for fans of the high-profile franchise and are sure to be hot items when the release date for The Last of Us Part II rolls around.
