This morning Jagex released the latest gameplay trailer for the upcoming skill Necromancy. Necromancy will be the first new combat skill since RuneScape began, which is sure to shake up the existing combat triangle. Players have been clamoring for new information ahead of release so that they can be best prepared to take on the underworld.

Latest Necromancy Trailer Drops Before Skills Release

We’re so very, nearly, almost there! Necromancy rises next Monday, August 7th at 12:00 Game Time (13:00 BST / 08:00 EST / 05:00 PST). With the launch just one game update away (seven days to go), we will be dropping a brand new gameplay trailer later today!

Players were eager to watch the new trailer, and the excitement could be felt in the chat as a five-minute countdown began before the trailer premiered.

The trailer stated that Necromancy would provide players with the following,

  • A new stand-alone combat style.
  • New weapons and armor.
  • New abilities.
  • New quests and bosses.

After the trailer, many RuneScape players shared their disappointment online as the trailer included very little new gameplay shown despite being referred to as a gameplay trailer. The countdown for the video itself was significantly longer than the video. This led to many fans feeling like the trailer had been misrepresented as it was more of a consolidation of previously shown footage and released information as opposed to new content.

Regardless, Necromancy will release on August 7, 2023, and players can immerse themselves in the whole experience. Until then, Double XP LIVE is currently live, and players are taking advantage to prepare themselves for Necromancy on launch.
