When the new iPad was announced earlier this year (sigh, yes, we bought it), Apple had a couple of games on display to show the raw processing power of the system.  Among them was Epic Games’ latest venture with Chair Entertainment, the action/RPG Infinity Blade Dungeons.  The game definitely had a lot to offer, and looked rather sensational – even compared to the previous Infinity Blade games.

But since then, we haven’t heard much about the title, and were wondering what was up with it.  There was a rumor that Apple would release the game in time with its mini iPad announcement that’s on tap to take place on October 23rd, next week.  But Epic Games has addressed the matter, stating the game isn’t coming until 2013.

“Ever since the talented team at Impossible Studios got their hands on Infinity Blade: Dungeons, they’ve been busy adding their great ideas to the game,” said Wes Phillips, spokesman for Epic Games. “There was also the matter of getting the Impossible Studios team up and running with desks, chairs, staplers and computers. The logistics of a new studio and implementing all these great ideas required a little extra time, so Infinity Blade: Dungeons will hit iOS in 2013.”
