Though we still don’t have a release date for the mysterious Death Stranding title from Hideo Kojima, that hasn’t stopped the creator from teasing fans with new tid-bits about the upcoming game. From previously revealed character art, to cloaked messages about the story, Kojima-san has been very busy as his team rushing towards completion. The latest tease to come from the studio head isn’t a part of the story, but it does bode well for those looking up to beef up their collectibles.

The figure shown is none other than Norman Reedus, who plays the game’s protagonist Sam. The gear seen is also the same gear we saw the character don in the initial trailer for the upcoming game, though Kojima-san didn’t reveal any other details about the new line other than that it’ts Figma and that the prototype is still in progress.
Though some anxious gamers may be feeling a little frustrated with the lack of any concrete news about what the wacky storyline revolves around, it’s difficult not to respect the process. Kojima-san is known for his eclectic sense of wonder and attention to detail, and it’s exciting to see him apply those principles to his very own breakout game for his debut studio: Kojima Productions.
We still don’t have a release date yet, but it looks like he could be gearing up to reveal something closer to when E3 rolls around despite Sony backing out of the showcase this year.
