GTFO is receiving its biggest update yet, Rundown 004, which the devs call “Contact.”

First and foremost, the most significant change to the game comes in the form of matchmaking. Players have been asking for matchmaking since the game was first released, and now GTFO will be receiving it in alpha.

This has been a barrier to entry for many peoples who want to pick the game up but don’t have a group to play with.

This update also brings an all-new difficulty system called “layered difficulty,” which allows players to take different routes throughout the level. Some routes are harder than others, so it’s up to your squad on how difficult you want to make the expedition!

Of course, the new Rundown also brings new weapons, a new environment called “Datacenter,” and a brand new enemy called the “Tank.”

There is plenty to sink your teeth into with this update so gather your squad or simply hit that matchmaking button to hop into the brutal and eerie world of GTFO.

The update is available now to anyone who owns GTFO Early Access. Just update the game and the new Rundown will be there for you to start up.

You can read a quote about the latest Rundown from the Creative Director, Ulf Andersson below.

“This Rundown is easily our biggest update yet. We’re adding core features such as matchmaking, and introducing a new system we call “layered difficulty.” Depending on what route you choose throughout some of the expeditions, you will find it either very hard – or extremely hard. This will make it easier – or should I say less hard – for new players to take on GTFO, but at the same time giving our more seasoned community members a hardcore challenge right from the first expedition”,
