Get a closer look at the story – and all the action.

As promised, Rockstar Games unveiled the official trailer for Grand Theft Auto V this morning, and while it’s roughly a minute long, it reveals new information regarding the game’s story.

In the trailer, we learn more about Michael’s fall from grace, and how he’s convinced by his former partner Trevor – whom he let down in a previous heist years ago – to return to a life of crime. Franklin, the third playable character in the game, joins the pair, as he’s trying to make a better life for himself.

The trailer features quite a bit of action, from a high-speed police chase to Trevor losing his mind on more than one occasion, at one point banging his head into a board. For good measure, you can also see a jet do a fly-by, damaging vehicles on the ground.

You can watch the trailer below, and we’ll have a follow-up video piece later today.

Grand Theft Auto V debuts on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
