Genshin Impact PS5 Upgrade Scheduled for Late April

Get your Genshin grind on in 4K

On April 28, the surprise hit free to play RPG Genshin Impact is coming to PS5. It was already playable through PS4 backwards compatibility of course, and already ran quite well! But a new native executable will accompany the game’s 1.5 update, bringing further upgrades to miHoYo’s hit.

Genshin Impact PS5 Upgrade Scheduled for Late April

On the PS5, Genshin Impact already runs at a stable 60 fps, which can’t be said about playing the game on a PS4 (base, at least). But with the PS5 upgrade, we’ll also get to see Genshin Impact running at a native 4K resolution, along with improved loading times and “enhanced textures,” according to a new post on the PlayStation Blog.

The new update will also include more Hangout Events, and two new characters: Eula and Yanfei. You can check out some of what they’re all about on the original blog post. A new Trounce Domain and Boss will be included as well.

This patch also gives players access to a “Serenitea Pot,” which will give players an option to choose a home for their character. Players will get to pick from a list of Realm styles, then have a home they can customize with various furnishings that can be earned over time.
