Apparently a Halo 3 fan who played the Epsilon test build of the game has been banned from Xbox Live until 9999.

It hasn’t been confirmed by Microsoft and Bungie but they’ve also not denied it when asked.

Gamespot have reported that the guy in question is named “Scar”, he’s a massive Xbox fanboy and was apparently given the pre-release build by a friend.

He reports playing the game “for maybe six hours or so all alone, in custom games and campaign. [Then] it would kick me offline every time I tried to play Epsilon. It wasn’t until the next day when I signed on that I found out I got banned.”

There have apparently been others that have received a similar ban, who it’s been reported to have had “no luck” trying to reverse it by speaking to Microsoft.

“Scar” says he isn’t appealing.
