In an exciting tweet from Nintendo of America, it was revealed that Nintendo Switch Online members will have access to a very special offer starting July 21. What is this offer, you ask? A free trial of Among Us lasting a full week!
Free Trial of Among Us Starting July 21 for Nintendo Switch Online Members
If you’ve been itching to try out Among Us on Nintendo Switch but have been uncertain as to whether you want to buy the game or not, we have some good news…
A free trial of Among Us lasting an entire week is set to begin this coming Wednesday, July 21!
One caveat to this undoubtedly exciting free trial announcement is that only those with a Nintendo Switch Online membership will have access. It’s like Tetris 99, you need Switch Online in order to have access for free.
In the event you become addicted to Among Us and want to keep playing after the free trial week has ended, the game will be on sale at 30% off making it just $3.50 (USD) on Switch. The 30% off discount will be available from July 21 to August 1.
If neither of these options (free trial through Switch Online, buying at 30% off) don’t appeal to you, it’s worth noting that Among Us is also available on mobile devices. And unlike its PC and console counterparts, Among Us is completely free on mobile with support for both iOS and Android.
So, if you’re curious about Among Us but don’t have a Switch Online membership and don’t want to buy the game for Switch right off the bat even with the 30% discount, you can test it out on mobile for free. Again, if you like it and want to buy it on a different platform, the game is usually $4.99 (USD) but will be $3.50 on Switch from July 21 to August 1.
Despite its massive rise in popularity, Among Us is still an indie game made by a small team. Purchasing a copy of the game benefits the developers, gives them the ability to continue working on the game, and acts as a nice way to say “thank you” for the fun experience. So, if you’re able to buy the game, we strongly encourage it.
With that out of the way, a quick recap to the news is that Among Us will have a free trial on offer for Nintendo Switch Online members with the free trial set to run from Wednesday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m. (PST) to Tuesday, July 27 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).
