The day just arrived on November 30, 2024, when Battlestate Games released an update or event that entails the next 0.16 patch or wipe is coming. Escape from Tarkov’s 0.16 Pre-Wipe Patch

The official Escape from Tarkov page just dropped a cryptic image on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The tweet is essentially just an image tease, but historically, they have sent a similar image to signify an incoming game wipe. The newspaper shows most of the bosses, just like the last pre-wipe patch in 0.15 but this time, they added Partisan, which was added in the previous update.

This newspaper showing the bosses actually means that there is an ongoing event where the bosses have a 100% spawn chance on every map. This is a pre-wipe event because it almost breaks the economy. Having the bosses spawn on every raid will impact the economy heavily because everyone will be sinking good loadouts into every raid, and not everyone will come out alive in the raid.

Even if there are “good” item drops from bosses, this whole event is still a big cash dump, so everyone can have fun spending all their hard-earned Roubles in the game.

Escape from Tarkov 0.16 Wipe Release Date

While the pre-wipe event is still fresh, it has been confirmed that they plan to wipe this December, which is also historically the month where they release the biggest patch and changes to the game.

However, they also had moments where they had to delay wipes, like when they were trying to upgrade the game to the Unity 22 engine. It was delayed for several months, but we should expect them to follow through this December with the 0.16 wipe.
