Earlier today, photographer Sela Shiloni discovered a mysterious installation in the middle of the desert while scouting for photoshoot locations. What Shiloni came across was unmistakably Fortnite’s Durrr Burger mascot, a real-life version of the same one that happened to vanish through a rift portal in-game yesterday afternoon.
Shiloni took to Twitter to share their findings, which included the Durrr Burger mascot, a tent, an old police car, and several signs that read, “If you can read this, you’re in range of the anomaly,” and “This site is unstable. Beware of possible effects.” The scene was found in the middle of the desert in Palmdale, California.

The Durrr Burger mascot is just one of several objects in Fortnite that have disappeared through rift portals as a result of the in-game rocket launch event last weekend. Perhaps the Durrr Burger setup is part of a bigger ARG or marketing campaign to promote Season 5. The discovery falls in line with fan theories that Season 5 may be desert or apocalypse themed, so perhaps this is something that Epic planned to reveal later once the new season begins.
It is unclear whether Epic Games is responsible for this real-life Durrr Burger installation, but at the very least, this will prompt fans to keep an eye out for more missing Fortnite objects in other similar locations. We’ll be sure to update this article if any new details emerge.
