Fortnite Mobile Has Earned $15 Million in Less Than a Month

by Larryn Bell

This week, Epic Games opened the floodgates for Fortnite Mobile to all players on iOS, allowing iPhone and iPad users to download the game without needing an invite. More importantly, players are also able to purchase items from the in-game shop, which has allowed the game to garner nearly $15 million in revenue since Fortnite Mobile’s iOS debut.

After previously being invite-only, Fortnite Mobile is now open to everyone on iOS. Removing the invite-only requirement has proven to be a lucrative move for Epic, according to a recent revenue report from Sensor Tower. Fortnite Mobile saw a 197 percent increase and $1.8 million in daily revenue on Monday, April 2, the day Fortnite Mobile became available to all players on iOS devices.

Since Fortnite Mobile began its monetization on March 15, the game’s mobile revenue has surpassed $15 million in a 20-day period, a majority of which has gone to Epic. Fortnite will likely see another revenue spike once the game arrives for Android users, whenever that may be.

This chart from Sensor Tower provides some illustrated insight into just how much the mobile version of Fortnite has grown since its worldwide iOS release earlier this week. A previous spike occurred with the release of the Fortnite Starter Pack, which offered an amazing price for a cosmetic bundle featuring an outfit and V-Bucks.
