In a blog post from Mediatonic, it was announced that the Xbox and Switch release for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been delayed. Originally, the game was scheduled to hit both platforms in Summer 2021.
An updated release window has yet to be provided, but with the additional time provided by the delay, fans of the game can look forward to cool features like crossplay.
Fall Guys Switch and Xbox Release Delayed
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is coming to Xbox and Switch, but not in Summer 2021. According to a blog post from Mediatonic, the release of Fall Guys on Switch and Xbox has been delayed. The reason for the delay is because they’re adding even more content and features, including crossplay.
“With so many new opportunities now in our hands, we’ve realised that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we’re working on.
While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience.
This delay gives our team some time to add features like crossplay, so when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their pals, regardless of their platform of choice.”
Mediatonic also assures players that seasonal content releases will continue with fresh Shows, Costumes, Rounds, and more. The Season 4.5 update is fast approaching, and will introduce 2 new Rounds and some stylish Fall fashion, so keep an eye out for that!
“We’re continuing to grow the team to best meet community expectations and deliver top notch future content. The heart of the team remains the same as ever. Fall Guys will keep rolling out new Seasonal content releases, fresh Shows, Costumes, Rounds and all the other delicious things you know and love.
The rapidly approaching Season 4.5 update is no exception, with 2 fiendish new Rounds heading your way, plus delicious Fall fashion for your Season 4 wardrobe. We don’t have a new date to share right now, but we’re here and we’ll be communicating any updates as soon as we can.”
While those looking forward a summer of Fall Guys on Xbox and Switch may be saddened to hear about the delay, it’s exciting to hear about all the new features in the works including crossplay.
Stay tuned, as we’ll be sure to share an update on the Xbox and Switch release of Fall Guys as soon as Mediatonic posts new information. Until then, you can read through the full blog post, and follow Fall Guys on Twitter for fun Fall Guys-related content and news!
