The Evolution Fighting Game Championship (Evo) is the biggest competitive fighting game event in the world, and takes place every summer in Las Vegas, NV. In previous years, the game lineup for Evo was announced in January. This year the event takes place July 11-13, at the LVH Hotel and Casino. However, fighting game fans will have to wait just a little bit longer to find out if their favorite brawler is going to make it to the big stage.

Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar, one of the executive staff members for Evo, will make an appearance on iPlayWinner’s talk show, The Fray. The show will stream live on February 4 on iPlayWinner’s Twitch channel.

So far, only Ultra Street Fighter IV has been confirmed to appear at Evo in 2014. However, with the event having strong support from Capcom, players can expect Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and possibly Street Fighter X Tekken to make an appearance as well. With Evo’s switch to using primarily Xbox 360 consoles in 2014, many have speculated that Microsoft may be sponsoring the event in some way, just as Sony has in previous years. If that’s the case, it’s highly possible Killer Instinct will make the cut.
