Every Twitch Valorant Stream Will Now Drop a Beta Code

You get a beta code, YOU get a beta code, EVERYONE GETS A BETA CODE ... if you are watching a Twitch Valorant stream, that is.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The closed beta for Valorant has been a hot commodity and even though it’s only been a week active, many profound names in the gaming industry and community alike are already hailing it as the next big thing for gamers and the Pro Scene as well. Unfortunately, the beta is really hard to get into – at least it was, and required a little finagling to make sure players could get in. Now Riot Games is loosening up that hold because every Twitch Valorant stream will drop a beta code!

How do Valorant Twitch Drops Work?

As we mentioned in our previous coverage about how exactly Valorant Twitch drops work, players needed to make sure that their Riot Games account was connected to Twitch. From there, fans needed to participate in viewership of streams that specifically were labeled with Twitch Drops and from there, it was anyone’s guess as to when that beta code would drop – if it ever did.

Now, it won’t be so hit or miss. Riot Games has confirmed that now all Valorant streams will be dropping beta codes for those interested in trying out the ‘next big thing’, though don’t get too excited yet. While they are opening up where the drops will take place, that doesn’t mean they’ve increased the number of drops. The studio has confirmed that while they have opened up availability, the number of codes being distributed is not going up.

The company also teased that getting access to the elusive closed beta “could happen at any time” while also promising that even more regions will be able to get in on the action such as the Latin American community as well as Korea. Additionally, they mentioned that they have increated their current beta server loads by 25% to meet player demands. They have also gone ham on tearing down cheaters and fake accounts looking to sell these highly coveted codes.

Riot added, “Our goal with VALORANT Closed Beta is to learn all the things we need to know going into launch, and one of those lessons is server load management. We are still in the active process of rolling out server infrastructure around the world—including more in EU and NA—and closed beta is doing a great job of telling us where we need to be. Thanks for participating in all of this, we’ll be back with more news when we can.”
