Fans will be happy to know that from the ground up, the game will be developed with collaboration between the studio, Unreal Tournament fans and Unreal Engine 4 developers. While many studios have made similar statements in the past, Epic seems fairly serious about this aspect, going on to say, “From the very first line of code, the very first art created and design decision made, development will happen in the open..” Players can expect updates via forums, blogs and weekly Twitch streams.

For those who wish to get involved, they can take advantage of the Unreal Engine 4 Roadmap, which is already live and available to anyone who wishes to view it.

Of course, with the design process only beginning today. What will come of all this won’t be known until many months have passed.
