Details, Screens and Trailer Revealed For New Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught Pack

by Prima Games Staff

Earlier this week, we provided a release date for the upcoming Onslaught map pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts, which will arrive on January 28th for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and a later date for PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Today, the details came out of the woodwork for the new pack – and fans are sure to love it.

The four maps – Fog, Bayview, Containment and Ignition – offer plenty of room to frag monstrous creatures, and the new Extinction pack, featuring Episode 1: Nightfall, will give you the opportunity to lay waste to some rather nasty mutant spiders.

Onslaught will also introduce new weapons to the fray, including the sweet new Maverick A2 Sniper Rifle, which acts as a two-in-one when it comes to effectiveness, as the included video explains.

Fog is a map inspired by horror film design, complete with a cabin in the woods that you can visit – but you probably won’t want to stay there all the time. One great perk is, as you complete a field order, you get to become iconic Halloween killer Michael Myers, with axe in hand. You’ll have temporary invincibility – and the classic theme will play as well.

Bayview provides a mid-sized setting in a coastal town, and provides plenty of firepower opportunities, including being able to run a sentry gun in a trolley car.

Containment is a map that takes place in a town in Mexico, with ample opportunities for soldiers and snipers alike to get kills. There’s a radioactive missile in the middle of it all, and completing a field order lets you activate it, decimating any enemies unfortunate enough to be in the area.

Ignition is a remake of the Scrapyard map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a good mid-sized map with a rocket that sits right in the middle. Once you complete a field order, you can activate it and use its engine to fry any enemies walking in the grid underneath. It’s really effective – and a great way to wipe out foes without wasting your ammo.

We’ll have strategies for these maps closer to the pack’s release later this month. Check out some fresh screens from the game below.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is available now for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC.
