Control’s First Expansion, Foundation, Drops New Trailer and Details

Are you ready for Control's first expansion, Foundation?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

When Remedy first launched Control, fans of the studio couldn’t get enough of the incredible story and wild twists and turns. Given how much excitement there was about the game, including numerous notable awards given, it’s easy to see why players would be itching for some more content. Luckily for us, that’s exactly what we’re getting with our first look at the game’s new expansion: Foundation.

According to Remedy and 505 Games, “The Foundation expansion will delve into the Oldest House’s history. Jesse is alerted by the Board that a situation has arisen in the Foundation, the bedrock of the Oldest House. A mysterious structure called the Monolith has been damaged, resulting in the Astral Plane leaking into the Foundation. If Jesse does not find a way to stop it, the entire Oldest House, along with the Bureau, will be consumed by this invading dimension.”

Foundation will offer new side missions in addition to the brand new story but there’s one catch: PlayStation 4 and PC players will be able to get in on the action on March 26th but Xbox One players will have to wait a few more months with that launch date set for June 25th. Sad, but thems the breaks.

For those that don’t have the Digital Deluxe version of Control, the DLC season pass is available now for $24.99 with the Foundation expansion set at $14.99. This won’t be the first expansion for the game, which means the Season Pass would be the better way to go in terms of money spent since the team did confirm that all expansions will be set at the 15 dollar price point.

For more about the game itself before the launch of the new expansion, courtesy of Remedy:

“Control is Jesse Faden’s story. The main plot focuses on her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Side-quests and Secrets are everywhere. Jesse works with other Bureau agents, decodes cryptic ciphers and discovers strange Bureau experiments.”
