The October PlayStation Plus lineup of games were revealed during today’s PlayStation State of Play, and PS Plus will be heading to the great outdoors in two very different ways.
First up is MLB The Show 19, the annual smash hit baseball game from Sony’s San Diego studio. The 2019 offering added the ability to recreate some of the biggest moments in baseball history, a new way to play a full season of baseball in March to October, and enhanced Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty modes for those who like to build characters and franchises over multiple seasons. With October hosting the MLB playoffs, this game coming to PlayStation Plus in the same month is likely to appeal to baseball fans who might not have taken the plunge yet. MLB 19: The Show originally released on March 26, 2019.
The other free game coming in October is The Last of Us Remastered, delivering the epic story of Joel and Ellie’s first adventure through Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic world. The 2013 PlayStation 3 classic was fully remastered for the PlayStation 4 in 2014, but this marks the first time the game has hit the PS Plus lineup. The timing couldn’t be better either, as later on in the broadcast it was revealed that The Last of Us Part II is coming on February 21, 2020. What better way to get ready for Part II then replaying the first game? The Last of Us Remastered originally launched on July 29, 2014
The two new PlayStation Plus titles will replace the current offerings, Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III, on October 1st according to the PlayStation Blog, and will remain free to all PS Plus members until November 4th. Stick to Prima Games for more from the State of Play presentation as it develops.
