Castlevania Netflix Series to Continue in Rondo of Blood Adaptation

Dracula X, y’all

Castlevania, Netflix’s series based on the stories of Castlevanias III and Curse of Darkness, ostensibly came to an end this year. But as hinted, that doesn’t mean Netflix is done with the brand. A new series has been announced by the shows’ directors, this time as an adaptation of Rondo of Blood. You know, the Best One.

The series doesn’t have an official title yet, but it’s set in 1792 during the French Revolution and is led by Richter Belmont and Maria Renard. So like, it’s Rondo of Blood. That’s all we know so far, beyond the writing team being a bit different this time around.

Rondo of Blood was originally released in 1993 for the PC Engine (TurboGrafix-16 in America). A sort of truncated version was released for the Super Nintendo as Dracula X, but a localized version of the original wouldn’t come westward until 2007 with the “Dracula X Chronicles” remake for the PSP. Rondo leads directly into the legendary Symphony of the Night, so you can bet we haven’t seen the last of animated Alucard either.

Richter Belmont is also in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is pretty cool, right?
