Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Is Basically A New Jet Set Radio

While it's not officially a new Jet Set Radio game, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is basically the exact same thing.

Jet Set Radio is a cult classic and while we don’t have a new one quite yet, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is basically the exact same thing just under a less fun name. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk comes from the studio Team Reptile and aims to deliver the same experience that Jet Set Radio does while allowing players an arsenal of new tricks and dances to uncover.

Created by Dion Koster, the below Bomb Rush Cyberfunk teaser trailer is giving off serious Jet Set vibes which is great since apparently SEGA is really opposed to porting their franchise over onto the Nintendo Switch. So, instead, Team Reptile created their own version:

According to the game’s Steam listing, “Team Reptile brings you Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, 1 second per second of highly advanced funkstyle. In a world from the mind of Dion Koster, where self-styled crews are equipped with personal boostpacks, new heights of graffiti are reached. Start your own cypher and dance, paint, trick, face off with the cops and stake your claim to the extrusions and cavities of a sprawling metropolis in an alternate future set to the musical brainwaves of Hideki Naganuma.”

Players will be able to choose a character from their crew in order to explore the colorful Cyberfunk world. As players clear neighborhoods, the game’s stages, they can learn new dances, grind out new tricks, and make a name for themselves in all of its graffiti glory.

The team also mentioned on the Steam listing that this is single-player focused game but when asked if it will have online multiplayer down the line, the response was simply “no further comment as of yet.” While this doesn’t have a release date at this time, you can learn more about Bomb Rush Cyberfunk right here
