The Nintendo Switch has definitely been living up to its promise of the biggest library yet, and the most surprising. From shocking third-party ports like Skyrim and Warframe, to some of our favorite older games making it into this gen, one thing is for sure: The Big N hasn’t disappointed yet. The latest port rumor? Though not confirmed, a new rating listing has just leaked a potential BioShock Collection addition to the Nintendo Switch library.
The BioShock Collection leak was spotted by an incomplete filed rating by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee. With the BioShock Collection having already made its appearance on PC and this generation of consoles with the PS4 and Xbox One, it looks like a Nintendo Switch jump could also be in the cards, though the rating didn’t seem to offer any sort of date. As mentioned, it’s an incomplete rating so it may have been a pre-emptive move during early talks, or even human error.
That being said, it would make perfect sense to make this move. Close to the Sun has been compared to BioShock numerous times and performed quite well on the Switch an with the recent news that a new BioShock game is in the works, 2020 would be the perfect year to bring in the Switch crowd into the dystopian franchise.
As with all leaks, it’s best to take this news with a grain of salt until Nintendo themselves confirm the big news, but if this proves to be true – that’s huge for owners of the wildly successful hybrid console.
What do you think about the BioShock Collection Nintendo Switch leak? Would you revisit the previous three games if they came out on the hybrid console, or do you think that the mechanics of the game wouldn’t necessarily translate in the best way?
