We’re up here at the EA Summit in Redwood City, California, covering the latest products that the company has to offer, but this morning, it already revealed one of its bigger surprises – a third chapter in its ongoing Army of Two series. What’s really shocking, though, is who’s behind development.
Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel will feature two all new heroes, Alpha and Bravo, as they work with their team at Tactical Worldwide Operations (T.W.O.) to take on a gritty Mexican drug cartel, armed to the teeth with major weapons. The game will once again support online co-op, so friends can team up together.
Again, though, there’s a new developer in town – and it’s Visceral Games, the same folks behind the Dead Space series.
Said Steve Paoutsis, general manager of Visceral, “Our goal with Army of TWO The Devil’s Cartel is to apply our key design principles – immersive, challenging gameplay, intense narrative and focus on quality – to help improve a franchise we feel has always had a lot of potential.”
The Devil’s Cartel should be ready to go by March 2013, its estimated release date. We’ll have a preview soon, as we’re likely to see the game in action today.
