Are We Getting a Remaster of Crysis 2?

One, two, another remaster is comin’ for you.

On social media, the Twitter account for Crysis shared an image of Crysis 2 along with an emoji of eyes looking sideways, sort of like a “hint hint, wink wink” to keep an eye out for news about Crysis 2.

As for what that news could be, the popular guess right now is a remaster of Crysis 2.

Are We Getting a Remaster of Crysis 2?

The Crysis Twitter account has people talking today following a tweet of an image from Crysis 2 that seems to suggest a remaster of Crysis 2 could be announced soon.

The reason for this stems from the timing of it, with Crysis Remastered having released back in September of 2020 and 2021 marking the 10th anniversary of the initial release of Crysis 2.

Essentially, work on Crysis Remastered was completed back in September of 2020, giving the team time to work on other projects in 2021… perhaps even Crysis 2 Remastered. And it’s the best time to announce it as well given Crysis 2’s 10th anniversary.

Well, the “best time” might have been closer to March 22, but E3 is right around the corner. It’d make sense to wait until the E3 festivities to formally announce Crysis 2 Remastered if that’s indeed what the tweet is implying is to be announced.

Replies to the tweet bring up the point of Crysis 2 still looking quite good, and a remaster not making as much sense as Crysis Remastered did. Speculation over what Crysis 2 Remastered would look like and what sort of updates and improvements fans can expect from it are also prominent among the replies to the teaser tweet.

As of right now, nothing has been formally announced so take all of this Crysis 2 Remastered talk with a grain of salt. It’s also possible the tweet is a little misdirection and the actual announcement will be different, or there’ll be more to it than just, “Hey, we’re working on Crysis 2 Remastered.”

We’ll likely get an update soon, as previously mentioned, E3 is right around the corner. Be sure to check back as we’ll share new information regarding Crysis 2 Remastered (and/or other announcements) as soon as that information is shared.

Until then, what are your thoughts on the possibility of a Crysis 2 Remastered announcement? Are there any other announcements you’re hoping will be made regarding Crysis? Let us know on our social media channels including Facebook and Twitter
