Angry Birds Movie Officially Confirmed By Rovio, Coming 2015

Can it beat The Avengers 2? Hmmm…

It’s been announced a while back, and a lot of folks were wondering just how it would turn out, but today, Rovio re-confirmed that it is, in fact, working on a CG movie based on its hit mobile series Angry Birds.

The film will be produced by John Cohen, the same man who worked on the Universal release Despicable Me.  Former Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel has also signed on as executive producer of the film.  No casting choices have been made as of yet, and no director has been assigned to the project.

The film is expected to arrive sometime in 2015, running alongside the Marvel sequel The Avengers 2 and the new Star Wars movie that’s on the way over at Disney.  Talk about a box-office bloodbath.  And who knows if that rumored Justice League movie will be able to compete…
