In TGA 2025, they announced Highguard, a chaotic and magical PvP shooter with a destructible environment, which will launch on January 27, 2026.

Highguard Looks Like a Promising Hero Shooter With Several Elements Showcasing High-Octane Combat

From what we can see from the Highguard trailer showcased in The Game Awards 2025, Highguard is a fast-paced, arcane gunslinger (FPS) set in a mythical world. Players or Wardens have skills and abilities stemming from the characters they use, making it similar to games like Marvel Rivals and Overwatch.

However, what makes it different is its environment and how it could potentially interact with the unique heroes. You have players riding mounts, almost making it clear that it’ll be a massive open-world space, fighting for control over objectives, with the ultimate goal of possessing the Shieldbreaker and destroying the enemy base to secure new territory.

You have unique mythical weapons, giving a fast-paced and chaotic gunplay. The game features destructible environments, adding immersion to the fantasy setting.

Highguard launches on January 26, 2026, on Steam, PS5, and Xbox for free. With such a short time from announcement to its release, it is eerily similar to how Apex Legends started out as well. It’ll be interesting to see how Highguard fares in a very competitive market in the multiplayer shooter landscape.
