7 Best Weapon Modules to Increase DPS in The First Descendant

DPS is just a number.

The First Descendant made modules the building blocks of any weapon build. Over 80% of your weapon damage comes from the weapon modules and how you stack the module enhancements. Choosing the right combination of modules will involve some heavy experimentation. However, there are a few weapon modules that are too strong to pass up on. Here are the best weapon modules to increase DPS in The First Descendant.

The Best Weapon Modules to Add More DPS in The First Descendant

Sharp Precision Shot – Ultimate Module

  • Fire Rate -20%.
  • When firing, increase Fire Rate by +4%, Recoil by -5%, and Firearm ATK by +6% for every 1.5s (up to 10 stacks).

The Sharp Precision Shot module is often overlooked because it drastically decreases your weapon’s Fire Rate. However, you gain more stats when you start firing because of the effect. As long as you are spraying for more than 10 seconds, you are already utilizing the module’s power.

This effect synergizes well with a Machine Gun weapon, especially The Tamer. These weapons generally have a lower Fire Rate, and you want to lower the fire rate a bit more in exchange for more damage.

You can add an Attribute ATK module to increase your damage even more, and most weapon builds cannot add this type of module because Fire Rate is important to most other weapons. It is mandatory to increase your magazine size when using this build, so it’ll take several weapon resets to make the Sharp Precision Shot work efficiently. One of the strongest Descendants, Gley, will surely push this build to the limit with those weapon buffs.

Strengthen First Shot – Ultimate Module

  • After reloading, your first shot gets Firearm ATK +100% (effect cooldown every 20 seconds)

Strengthen First Shot is a niche weapon module mostly used for Sniper Rifle builds. The goal is to stack as much Firearm ATK damage as possible to increase your overall base damage and multiply that base with Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, and Weak Point Damage.

It is a one-hit-wonder build that is used every 20 seconds, which means you have another weapon build ready to substitute after pulling off a million-damage shot.

Action and Reaction – Rare Module

  • Firearm ATK +15%, Recoil +5%

Action and Reaction is one of the most popular modules because of the popularity of Submachine Gun weapons. Players love to spray mindlessly up close and see all those big numbers show up. Because of this, the added Firearm ATK percentage is worth it because you can sacrifice as much Recoil as you want if you get up to the enemy’s face.

Expand General Magazine – Normal Module

  • Max General Rounds +13%

When you are close to maxing out the damage modules of your weapons by adding those socket types, you’ll eventually lack damage choices because all of the other module types have already been taken. Increasing your general magazine is one way to increase your damage indirectly since you have more bullets to shoot. This isn’t much of a boost for every other content except for Void Intercept Battles. However, you can switch this module to another one that increases your magazine round capacity.

Rifling Reinforcement – Normal Module

  • Firearm ATK +12%

For the next three modules on the list, we have some normal modules that increase your weapon’s damage. Don’t let the rarity fool you. These modules are some of the strongest because they don’t belong to any module type. For example, the Action and Reaction rare module is an “ATK” module, which means you cannot equip any “ATK” modules for your weapon. Rifling Reinforcement bypasses this because it is not an “ATK” module.

Better Insight – Normal Module

  • Firearm Critical Hit Rate +10%

Edging Shot and Better Insight modules will push your weapon’s Critical Hit Rate to new heights and possibly even break past 80% critical hit rates on most weapons.

Better Concentration – Normal Module

  • Firearm Critical Hit Damage +8%

Stacking Critical Hit Damage is always a staple on most weapon builds, but it significantly relies on a high Critical Hit Rate to work. Generally, if you go past the 50% Critical Hit Rate, any addition to Firearm Critical Hit Damage will significantly increase your weapon’s damage.

You can never go wrong with upgrading the last three weapon modules because they will be used for almost all the weapons in the game. So, start farming those Kuiper Shards to get those upgrades maxed out as soon as possible.
