The Books of Knowledge for the Plague Rats ability are found in Diadurum Ruins and Compendium.

Diadurum Ruins

The Diadurum Ruins can be found in northwestern Melunois. You can swim in the pond to find an entrance to the underground chamber. There are a few explosive jars here that you can reach by swimming again.

After destroying the wall, you should find the Diadurum Ruins key for the “Hidden” quest, as well as the Golden Flame Book of Knowledge.

Compendium

The other Book of Knowledge for the Golden Flame is in Compendium. This raiding target is in central Amienois.

Advance with your raiding crew until you reach the cathedral. You can ask for help when barging through the door, or you can break one of the stained glass windows. Eliminate the hostiles here, including the Gedriht who has the Compendium chest key and Great Shell Rune.

Next, check the very top of the cathedral to find an opening. You’ll see some floorboards and movable cabinets.

Eventually, you’ll find the desk that has the Golden Flame Book of Knowledge.

What does this ability do?

The Golden Flame ability in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris lets Eivor grab an enemy to place a bomb. After a couple of seconds, the explosive will detonate. The upgraded version allows you to reorient and throw the enemy, ensuring that they’ll explode when they’re close to their comrades.
