How to make custom stairs in Palworld

What exactly do I mean by a player figuring out how to make custom stairs in Palworld? Reddit user Kenobi-Kun posted a video on the Palworld subreddit showcasing using benches to create staircases in bases. By hopping on top of a bench, the game lets you build one on top of it as if you were building a staircase piece by piece. While they don’t look quite as photogenic or matching as actual staircases, they seem to create much more flexibility in where exactly you can place stairs.

Even better, it seems the makeshift stairs can be quickly run up and down without any complications. This creative solution allows the player to make spiral staircases. It also lets them fine-tune the height of the stairs to their liking.

While stairs are located under the Foundations tab, benches are found in the Furniture tab of the build menu. Besides the visuals, the main drawback to using benches over staircases is the amount of wood needed. Stairs take two bundles of wood, while benches take ten. That makes no sense considering the stairs are much larger than the benches, but I suppose that’s not something to expect from the “animals with guns” game. Still, if your base is automating wood well enough, you probably won’t feel the difference.

So, a player figures out how to make custom stairs in Palworld — what else will players come up with in the following days? Considering what happened with Tears of the Kingdom, I’m honestly a little afraid. If you’re curious about Palworld yourself, see how much space it’s going to take up!
