Hophare is one of the farm animals you can tame and keep at your base in Enshrouded. These small, rabbit-like creatures are relatively easy to tame, but finding one can be a little tricky because they are shy and will run away if you get too close.

While they don’t provide any resources, it’s still nice to have these cute creatures roaming around your base. So, here is how to find and tame Hophare in Enshrouded.

Hophares are relatively easy to find. They can be found in Springlands, Revelwood, and the Albaneve Summits. Of course, Springlands should be the easiest place to find them. You can explore around these regions, and you will come across a couple of them.

But if you are having trouble, here are some reliable spots where you can find them in.

Here are some known Hophare locations:

  • Springlands: Around Longkeep, just north of the Cinder Vault. You can also find them along the cliff northeast of Longkeep, heading toward the Elixir Well.
  • Revelwood: Near the Ancient Obelisk north of Fort Kelvin.

I recommend searching around Longkeep first, as it’s relatively easy to reach and you can find up to two Hophares in the area. Longkeep is close to the place the game guides you to place your first Flame Altar.

Remember that Hophares are timid creatures. Avoid running toward them or approaching too quickly, as they’ll flee as soon as they spot you.

How to Tame a Hophare in Enshrouded

Hophares are tamed just like any tameable creature in Enshrouded. You first need to craft the Bait at the Farmer NPC. The recipe for Hophare Food Bait is:

IngredientQuantity
Forest Beet1
Hazelnut1
Strawberry1
Corncob2

Strawberry, Hazelnut, and Forest Beet are Revelwood crops; you can find them in that region. The easiest way to find them is to head to settlements or abandoned villages; there is a chance you might find them in the farms. Remember to make seedlings for them, so you don’t have to run back and forth to get more. Corncob is also relatively common in Springlands.

Once you’ve crafted the bait, head to one of the Hophare locations mentioned above and follow these steps:

  1. Find a Hophare and crouch to approach it without alerting it.
  2. Throw Hophare Food Bait in front of the creature.
  3. Wait for the Hophare to approach the bait and start eating.
  4. While it’s distracted, slowly approach and interact with it to pet it.
  5. Once the heart appears, you’ve tamed the Hophare.

Unlike some other farm animals, Hophare only require one successful pet interaction. You can then pick them up and carry them back to your base.

How to Keep Hophare at Your Base

Once you’ve brought a Hophare home, you’ll need to provide it with shelter, a Farm Animal Pillow, and a Hophare Feeder, all of which are crafted at the Farmer. You’ll also need to prepare some Hophare Food to keep it fed.

If you want to breed Hophares, you can keep two of them together and provide an additional bed. They have a chance to produce a Baby Hophare when the breeding conditions are met.
