Day two of E3 2019 is kicking off with the first ever conference from Upload VR. This is a pretty huge deal given how many people still view VR gaming as being niche, but it really is an incredible thing to step into if you get the chance. Well, Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades is getting a new update based on the classic team shooter Team Fortress 2. Team Fortress 2 is a game that is well loved by everyone except the developers, who are too busy making money to make games.
It’s called Meat Fortress and it is releasing on June 28th this year. With it comes a heap of new skins, new weapons, and heaps more fun too. If you’ve never played the game, it is a sandbox game that leans heavily into the kind of chaos you can only experience in VR and basically has you messing around with every kind of weapon you can get your hands on. There’s also a lot of puns, so if you aren’t into that then you can consider yourself warned.
It’s pretty interesting to see some new Team Fortress-inspired content coming ahead of Valve’s own VR headset, so maybe this is a sign of things to come. Either way, it looks like the extra content should breathe a bit more life into the game as well as bringing in some new players to this meaty world.
