Tales Of Arise Announced At E3 2019

The cult RPG series is getting an overhaul and it looks incredible.

It may well be a bit of a niche series, but the fans of the Tales of games are incredibly dedicated and their thir… commitment is about to be rewarded in the form of Tales of Arise. The latest in the long-running series of games will have players getting to grips with a story that seems to be centred around class divides and tradition. This is a topic that’s been addressed in a few other RPGs, so it will be interesting to see the Tales series taking a stab at it.

The planet Dahna is very much under the thumb of another planet called Rena. As such Rena rules and regularly pillages Dahna for resources and anything else they want. The story itself centres on two people, one from each of these worlds, who want to work towards something better. This seems to be a bit more hopeful and happy than Tales of Berseria, the last Tales game which had a far darker tone than many expected.

Tales of Arise is taking some bold new steps visually too, thanks to the Unreal Engine 4. Rather than the usual anime looking affair, the game looks far sharper and a bit more realistic with huge open vistas and gorgeous scenery around every corner. The gameplay is very much what you would expect from the Tales series thanks to a mix of basic and special attacks. These games always have an incredible level of depth, so hopefully, this one introduces another fun new system for fans to pay about with.

You can play Tales of Arise when it releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020. Make sure to keep your eyes glued (not literally) to Prima Games via our homepage, Facebook, and Twitter to make sure you’re up to date with everything else announced at E3 this year.
