Nintendo has announced that the Super NES Class Edition will arrive in stores on September 29, 2017. While classic gaming fans have been eagerly awaiting the official confirmation and announcement of the Super NES Classic Edition, Nintendo surprised everyone by confirming that the previously unreleased Star Fox 2 will be included on the tiny console. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition as it’s officially called, will release on September 29, 2017 for the price of $79.99. The mini-console will come packed with 21 classic games that are sure to get fans excited, but the crown jewel of the collection is Star Fox 2. The unreleased sequel to the original Star Fox on the Super NES will finally see the light of day on the Super NES Classic Edition.
“While many people from around the world consider the Super NES to be one of the greatest video game systems ever made, many of our younger fans never had a chance to play it,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With the Super NES Classic Edition, new fans will be introduced to some of the best Nintendo games of all time, while longtime fans can relive some of their favorite retro classics with family and friends.”
The Super NES Classic Edition will come packaged with one HDMI cable, one USB charging cable with AC adapter and two wired Super NES Classic Controllers, designed to look and feel like the originals. With two controllers fans can quickly and easily jump into multiplayer action with Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Mario Kart, Contra III: The Alien Wars and Secret of Mana.
