Rage 2 is the latest first-person shooter from Bethesda, and it is another one in the post-apocalyptic sub-genre. While there are a lot of completely absurd abilities and weapons in the game, one gun stands above all the others. The BFG 9000 is the latest version of the classic BFG weapon found in classic FPS games like Doom, and it can now be found within the wasteland of Rage 2. This is how to get the BFG in Rage 2.
The BFG in Rage 2 is currently an exclusive item for those who have the Deluxe Edition or Collectors Edition of the game. Even if you have shelled out for one of these fancier versions, you still need to take a couple of steps in order to get your hands on this beast of a weapon.
You actually have to take your first step before you even jump into the game properly. Select the Store option from the Main Menu and it will ask you to make or link a Bethesda account with the game. Do this and you’ll have the chance to find the weapon in game shortly after the prologue mission.
Once you have completed the opening mission and have donned the suit of a Ranger, you’ll be able to leave Vineland. As you leave, you’ll go past a collection of wrecked buildings before the world opens up to reveal the desolation that awaits you. Follow the road forward for a little bit and you’ll see a meteor drop out of the sky and crash into a hill ahead of you. Just go up the hill and you’ll see the BFG 9000 amongst the broken remains of the space rock. If you need ammo, you can get it from Wellspring so it might be worth heading there first. You may have to do the first mission in Wellspring before this event happens though, so if it doesn’t appear for you go and do that first.
