With so many quarantined due to the continued spread of COVID-19, many are stuck in their households and looking for something fun to do. While Dungeons & Dragons is always a good choice, the team behind this legendary tabletop franchise just announced that they are going to be offering freebies for both kid and adult players looking for new journies to undertake!

While I’ve been enjoying D&D off and one for 15 years, I stumbled upon the freebie announcement thanks to the incredibly talented lead of the tabletop vertical over at ComicBook.com, Christian Hoffer. It was there that I discovered that the D&D brand released a Player’s Guide and Dungeon Master’s Guide for Adventures League on Monday as the first drop in an effort to help beginners navigate the massive world of D&D. The DMs guild is also offering the Adventure With Mulk as a “pay what you want” option as well for those looking to take their epic quests to the next level.

“With schools closed around the world, many parents and caregivers are at home with their kids, including many in the D&D community,” Wizards of the Coasts said in its recent announcement. “If you are in need of fun & educational material to share and/or play with your kids, you can check back here each day for D&D stuff to help during this time. If you (or someone you know) is a younger gamer, we’re also releasing resources to make it even easier to get into D&D.”

While the 5th edition of D&D has always been free, it’s nice to see some of the broader strokes of Dungeons & Dragons also becoming more accessible. That being said, the 5th edition is over 400 pages of pure magical glory including spells, different races, and so much more.

Wizards also confirmed that they are releasing even more content on the way, including portions of the Lost Mine of Phandelver in addition to an adventure from Ghosts of the Saltmarsh and Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus.
