Here’s who to look forward to hearing in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Voice Actor Cast List

The player character in Valhalla is Eivor, a Viking raider in 873 AD who’s at the forefront of the Viking invasion of the British isles. You’ll be able to establish a settlement in Anglo-Saxon England, which brings Eivor into conflict with nearby kingdoms like Wessex. At the same time, Eivor ends up fighting the Order of the Ancients alongside the Hidden Ones.

In 2018’s Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, you could pick between a male and female character, but the canon protagonist for Odyssey’s events has been officially established as Kassandra. For Valhalla, according to its narrative director Darby McDevitt, both versions of Eivor are somehow intended to be the canonical choice. That may seem weird, but then again, the last game prominently featured a magic immortality stick, so what actually is weird, anymore?

The male version of Eivor is voiced by Magnus Bruun, an actor from Denmark who may be best known for his role as Cnut in seasons 3 and 4 of The Last Kingdom, now streaming on Netflix. Bruun has been a working actor since 2007, primarily in Danish television shows like Sprinter Galore. He announced his role as Eivor via Twitter on April 30th, noting that he “just can’t seem to get enough of these sexy bloody Vikings.”

Female Eivor is voiced by Cecile Stenspil, who’s also from Denmark. Her first major part was Jasmina El-Murad on the 2009 Danish television show The Protectors, with several other Danish film and TV appearances since then. Valhalla appears to be Stenspil’s first major international role. She confirmed her role as Eivor in both Danish and English via her personal Instagram on April 30th, around the same time as the Valhalla Collector’s Edition gave the world its first look at the female Eivor.

At time of writing, the Internet Movie Database has a third cast member listed for Valhalla, British actor Tom Lewis. He reportedly plays King Alfred, who was the king of Wessex during the period in which Valhalla is set. There’s been no independent confirmation of this so far besides the IMDB entries for Valhalla and Lewis, however, and Lewis doesn’t seem to have a social media presence to speak of. Consider this unconfirmed for the moment.

Along the same lines, while Ubisoft has confirmed that Valhalla will continue the storyline of modern-day Assassin Layla Hassan from Origins and Odyssey, her voice actress Chantel Riley has yet to officially confirm or deny that she’s returning to play Hassan. However, Riley did say on her personal Twitter on May 1st that she’s “grateful to have been a part of” Valhalla, which is suggestive.

As Assassin’s Creed games tend to have enormous casts, this can be considered a developing story. Keep an eye on this space for more news about the voice cast of Valhalla as it continues to be revealed.
