5 Assassin’s Creed Locations We’d Like to See Next, Medieval Japan

Ubisoft has been teasing new locations hidden within the game’s mini-adventures for years now but two scenarios found in the modern-day portion of AC have stuck out the most to fans: Vikings and Feudal Japan. Now that we know that Vikings is indeed the next narrative direction, that leaves just one more wish unfulfilled by primed for future excitement.

A samurai-driven Assassin’s Creed story would be incredible. We got a small taste of something similar with the spin-off Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China, but it just wasn’t the same. We’re talking Japan, we’re talking honorable samurai, we’re talking a fully-fleshed out, open-world adventure, not the side-scrolling rendition seen in Chronicles.

Imagine, for a moment, an Assassin’s Creed game done in Hiroshi Inagaki style from The Samurai Trilogy in 1954? Or maybe Kihachi Okamoto’s Samurai Assassin from 1965? Take that premise, modernize it just a tad to fit into more to today’s expectations, and voila! We could have a perfect Assassin’s Creed game once more with a narrative that fans have been begging for in a style completely unique than all of it’s predecessors.

A big reason I loved Assassin’s Creed Origins is because it took us deep into Ancient Egypt, a time that I was obsessed with as a child. Walking the dunes of Egypt and playing pivotal roles in history through this game was incredible and a dream come true. I’d love to see that same historic formula applied to the age of samurai.

What do you think about a samurai-fueled Feudal Japan Assassin’s Creed game as one of our 5 Assassin’s Creed locations we’d like to see? What would be your dream premise if you got a game like this?
