The world learned more about Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Sunday with Ubisoft’s Forward conference hot on the heels of when we ourselves got to play several hours of both new titles. Our time with the new Watch Dogs was amazing but as a hardcore Assassin’s Creed fan as well, there was one nod that was too good not to share.
For those unfamiliar with Assassin’s Creed, players can take a Leap of Faith from high points on the map to synchronize. This action is accompanied by the sound of eagles alongside an elegant leap into a safe area. When climbing every single possible climbable area in Watch Dog Legions with my time with the game, I loved pushing the boundaries of where I could and couldn’t go. When I reached one particular high point and dove down into the water, I immediately noticed my character transformed into an assassin in the way of their body language, how they swan dived, and the accompanying whistle and eagle sounds exactly heard in Assassin’s Creed.
This is one of the many Easter eggs that players will be able to find in Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed is by far not the only other IP referenced, but as a huge fan myself this discovery was probably among my personal favorites.
