How Many Stages are in Gungrave G.O.R.E.?

Yes, his name is literally Beyond the Grave. It used to be Brandon, though

Beyond the Grave is back in action in Gungrave G.O.R.E., the first game in the series (not counting the VR gimmick on PS4) since Gungrave Overdose for the PlayStation 2. The original games were quite short, aiming for a swift, arcade-style action/adventure vibe. The new game is a much more substantial affair, with several hours of gameplay even if you aren’t trying to complete everything. Factor in the Lab upgrades and you’ve got a grand gamut of Gungrave gaming. In case you’re trying to figure out the kind of investment with G.O.R.E. you’d need, here’s what you can expect.

How Many Stages are in Gungrave G.O.R.E.?

Speaking generally, Gungrave G.O.R.E. will run first-time players around 20 hours. Veterans or higher-skilled players can shave some hours off, and of course the completionists will add several. That’s because in addition to the length of the story, there are plenty of optional tasks you can place upon yourself.

But back to the basics. Gungrave G.O.R.E. sprawls its bullet ballet through six chapters, introducing different locations across many “Stages.” You can expect to go through 31 Stages before you roll credits in Gungrave G.O.R.E. Some of those stages have multiple parts, so technically you’ll be playing more than 31 levels. But as far as the game’s Stage labeling, the official number is 31.

Within those six chapters are six locations. Globetrotting Grave will touch down in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Scumland. One of those locations is fictional, just in case you couldn’t tell. Each location is its own chapter, although technically you do visit Scumland twice. There are also multiple playable characters besides Beyond the Grave, but we’ll get into all that in a different article. In the meantime you can check out my preview for some early impressions on Gungrave G.O.R.E., or my review which doesn’t exist just yet as of this writing. It takes a while to get through all those stages, you know.
