How to Unlock and Use the Quickdraw Stub Revolver in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

For such a small weapon, it sure packs a massive punch.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide may have some extravagant guns that set its arsenal apart from other games, but there’s something about the simplicity of those classic guns that just works. Sure, we can talk all day about how the Veteran’s Plasma Gun is a beast of a weapon up close and at the range, but how can you go wrong with a classic assault rifle like one of the Autoguns? One such ranged weapon for three of the four classes falls into this category and can pack a surprisingly mean punch. Here’s how to unlock and use the Quickdraw Stub Revolver in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

How to Get the Revolver in Darktide

You likely already guessed this, but the Quickdraw Stub Revolver is available for the Veteran, Zealot, and Psyker classes. If the Ogryn tried to hold the revolver, his fingers simply wouldn’t be able to pull the trigger. As for our other three classes, each unlocks the weapon at a different level that’s fairly low. The Veteran picks theirs up as early as trust level two, and both the Zealot and Psyker pick theirs up at trust level seven.

You could use the Revolver on any of the three classes, though we feel it’s best suited for the Veteran out of all the subclasses. The Zealot could run it, sure, though they have better-ranged options. This is especially true when they unlock the Purgation Flamer at the following level. For the Psyker, you simply can’t beat any of the four Force Staffs. The Veteran can make ample use of the Revolver though, especially under a build focused around Volley Fire.

As for how you use this tiny powerhouse, the primary fire of course fires off the Revolver, while the secondary fire lets you aim down sights. The special action does a small bash which is only useful when you don’t have time to switch to your melee option. This makes it easy to understand, though there are a few things you should keep in mind while using it.

If you decide to bring it along as a Veteran, we highly suggest going with the level 10 feat Tactical Reload. To compensate for the high damage per bullet the Quickdraw Stub Revolver puts out, the reload is incredibly long as you manually put in each bullet. That slight increase on reload speed can make a massive difference. We’d also only suggest pulling this out to snipe specials and elites with Volley Fire and focusing hordes with something like the Power Sword. You likely assumed as much already though.

If you want a solid ranged option for the early levels of someone like the Veteran in Darktide, the Quickdraw Stub Revolver is easily one of the best. When used right, the burst damage can be insane.
