Warhammer 40K: Darktide Ogryn

The Best Ogryn Build in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

The best build for everyone's favorite hulking mass.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide’s Ogryn is arguably one of the best classes in the game, let alone being one of the easiest to get the hang of. As the King of Stagger among the game’s roster, they can provide strong utility and crowd control for their team while also bringing a decent amount of damage, only lacking in range. If you’re going to play them, you may want to maximize their efficiency. Here’s the best Ogryn build you can make in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

The Best Loadout for Ogryn in Darktide

Starting with the weapon choice, our personal favorite combo is the Maul and Slab Shield as a melee weapon, combined with the Ripper Gun Mk V or the Heavy Stubber. The melee choice here is easily their best melee weapon, bringing a great mix of defense and cleave damage to infinitely stagger opponents and prevent them from dealing damage to you. This allows your DPS-oriented allies such as the Psyker and Veteran to do their job uninterrupted.

The ranged choice is a bit more flexible. The Heavy Stubber brings a healthy bit more range than the Ripper Gun Mk V, though you lose out on the DPS. With that being said, having a good mix of long and close-range might have you leaning towards the Heavy Stubber. Either weapon offers a great balance, so be sure to choose what best fits you. We just wouldn’t suggest the Lorenz line of shotguns/grenade launchers, as they’re blatantly inferior.

As for the feats, we felt the following choices were the best given our choice of weapons. These may change for you if you wish to deviate from our weapon choices:

  • Level 5: Best Form of Defence
  • Level 10: Heavyweight
  • Level 15: Lead the Charge/Bullfighter
    • Choose this one based on if you feel like your Bull Rush is on cooldown too often.
  • Level 20: Die Hard
  • Level 25: Knife Through Butter
  • Level 30: Bull Gore

Each of these choices should provide you with a solid set of passive buffs for both you and your team. There’s room for experimentation for sure, especially on your Level 15 and Level 30 feats, though this is the build that works best for us. If you have any personal favorites, be sure to let us know.
