Ever since the release of 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, Call of Duty games have become notoriously massive as far as file sizes go. It went so far, in fact, that the developers had to allow players to uninstall sections of the game so they could free up portions of disk space. The trend has continued, and it’s only going to get worse as time goes on. That’s where today (November 16) comes in, with the release of Warzone 2.0 finally upon us. Here’s how many gigs you can expect Warzone 2.0 to take up, along with the overall file size.
What is the Warzone 2 File Size?
When it comes to file size, there are two amounts worth considering. Those are the download size, and file size on the system itself. The download size is how much you physically have to download, which will be the most important for the short term. The file size is how much you can expect to be taken up on your system, and will likely matter in the long term if you have other games you want to play.

The download size will depend on whether you currently have Modern Warfare 2 installed or not. If you do, you’ll only need to download a few gigabytes. If you don’t, though, anywhere from 25-45GB will be needed from your system depending on your platform. As for the file size, this comes in much larger at anywhere between 115 and 175 GB. This means you’ll need a hefty amount of space freed up on your system, and may even need to delete some games just to have enough. It’d also be wise to free up more space than is already listed, as updates are bound to bring this number well past the 200 GB mark at some point. Especially as new Call of Duty games come out and bring forth more content to the game.
