What is PlayStation Stars? New PSN Reward System Explained

PlayStation Stars, the all-new loyalty rewards program, will allow you to obtain digital collectibles to display on the PlayStation app. Here is the description from the official PlayStation Blog post detailing the new information we know about PlayStation Stars.

“Created just for PlayStation Stars, these digital collectibles can only be earned through our loyalty program. In some instances, collectibles will be provided as a way to commemorate past activities, achievements, or product ownership. They range in rarity, just like the actual products on which they are based or the effort required to earn them.  Once you’ve earned collectibles, you can arrange them in a virtual display case within the PlayStation App and, if you choose, you may display your collectibles case within your PSN profile to friends.”

Below, you can find a list of all of the known current digital collectibles players will be able to receive when the program rolls out at a later date.

  • Punto the gondolier from Ape Escape 2
  • PlayStation 3
  • PocketStation
  • Toro & Kuro celebrating a birthday
  • Chord Machine
  • Polygon Man

More details on exactly how these are earned have not been fully revealed yet, but we know that the first campaign rolling out in Asia right now is “Hit Play/1994” where members who correctly guess the games that match the song-based clues will receive a collectible.
