Splinter Cell changes aren’t huge

Ubisoft’s demo was a good representation

Ubisoft have insisted the changes they’re making to Splinter Cell before its release next year don’t drastically alter what we’ve seen so far.

The company corresponded with fans on a thread on their forum. The discussion was based around changes or additions to the game that fans might like to see.

“Just so you know: there won’t be any major changes or additions to what you saw at E3 but there may be minor tweaks/balancing” community developer Razz explained.

We saw the game announced back in 2006 before it became subject to a series of delays, all due to a bit of a re-imagination of the main ideas for the title.

The game features our old friend Sam Fisher, who this time is trying to find the person who killed his daughter. He’s got a whole new set of techniques and gadgets to use, including a mark-and-execute system, and should be more like Bond than ever before.

Ubisoft recently indicated that both Splinter Cell: Conviction and Red Steel 2 are to be released in the fourth financial quarter of the year, which means Jan-March 2010. The games are apparently being held back to ensure they’ll live up to the flashy demos Ubisoft had shown off at E3.

We’ll be getting loads more on Splinter Cell: Conviction very soon so keep coming back to game’s hub.
