Ubisoft’s developer Jade Raymond has taken on the task of working on Splinter Cell 6 at the company’s Toronto studio.
Raymond took the more relaxed approach to the announcement and confirmed the news in a promo video she put out yesterday.
“We’re working on Splinter Cell 6, the next iteration of the blockbuster franchise, and we’re doing it entirely here in Toronto.”
It was revealed that Raymond was working on a Splinter Cell title back in May but it’s only now that we’ve heard it referred to as Splinter Cell 6.
Raymond speaks in the new video of how 83 people have been hired for the game, revealing that gameplay production is “going on already”
“There are concept artists, animators and audio directors hard at work as we speak.”
“Within the next 10 years we plan to ramp up this studio to at least 800 people, and we’re ahead of schedule on that,” she stated.
Raymond gave news that she was planning to release five triple-A games in the Ubisoft Toronto studio, two of which, SC6 included, are currently being developed.
Splinter Cell 6 is a follow-up to Splinter Cell: Conviction, which you can find a load of lovely content on here at Prima.
