Video game soundtracks getting pressed to vinyl have been becoming more and more popular. The latest soundtrack to get pressed is the Sea of Thieves Soundtrack, courtesy of Iam8bit. Rare’s shared world pirate adventure game has excellent music ranging from pirate-themed sea shanties to melodic overworld tones when sailing the high seas.
Sea of Thieves Three LP Vinyl Set Announced by Iam8bit, Pre-Orders Open Now
This pressing features a three-LP collection of composer Robin Beanland’s excellent work on the game. It also features a 24-page storybook, full-art illustrations on the vinyl sleeves, and each LP will be blue, red, and orange.
The LP will feature 38 tracks totaling 125 minutes of music between the three LPs. Not to mention that the center of each disc has a popup figure you can pop out while listening. It certainly has a lot of character compared to some of the other vinyl pressings we’ve seen over the years.
You can check out some photos of the collection below. If you like what you see, you can pre-order the vinyl right here. The album art is by Haley Wakefield, and Vivia Shih created the Storybook Art.
The vinyl collection is priced at $99.99 and is estimated to ship in Q3 2021. This being said, many vinyl pressings are being delayed due to *gestures at everything*, so always be mindful that pressing vinyl can be tricky and might end up shipping later than usual.
