It’s almost time for the PlayStation family to embark on the most epic of Pirating adventures in Sea of Thieves. No matter if you’re planning on buying a second copy or just prefer the PlayStation controller setup, finding out if you can transfer your save is important — let’s find out.
Can You Transfer Saves Between Xbox & PlayStation in Sea of Thieves?
If you’re hoping to share your content between platforms, you’ll be glad to know that you won’t lose your perfect pirate if you’re planning on picking up a PlayStation copy of the game — according to the official Sea of Thieves X account, Shared Progression is a Day One feature of the game.
You’ll also find a few other PlayStation-exclusive features, such as Adaptive Triggers and PlayStation Portal support so you can plunder from wherever you are. The addition of Adaptive Triggers could be a game changer to some, although I’ve turned off the feature to preserve battery life on my controller. Players embarking on the open seas will also find that they can turn off Cross-Play at any time so they can learn the ropes before being boarded by those with thousands of hours of practice.
The ability to jump between consoles and transfer your saves alongside it may convince me to purchase a second copy of Sea of Thieves and is something that every game should strive for. Not many games take advantage of this particular feature, and I know there are plenty of games that I would love to play from the comfort of my couch rather than my PC, but Cross-Saves are not possible.
Will Steam Progress Link To PlayStation 5 Versions of Sea of Thieves?
While there is no information currently available regarding this on the Sea of Thieves FAQ, players are currently able to transfer their progress between the Xbox/Windows version of the game and the Steam Version, so it would seem that this should also be available on the PlayStation 5 version of the game. However, if you’re planning to walk the plank from PC to PlayStation, it may not hurt to wait until official confirmation has been given regarding this particular bit of knowledge.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on our Sea of Thieves section below to learn more about the game, and find out if you should get Skull and Bones or Sea of Thieves for your next pirate adventure.
