Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One Details Outlined, New Warzone Map & More

Plenty of additional content.

Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War begins on December 16. Today, in a Call of Duty blog post, Treyarch outlined precisely what players can expect from the season when it goes live.

The biggest news being that Warzone will finally add a new map to its rotation. Verdansk, the current map, has gone through changes throughout the past year, but fans have been clamoring for a new map for quite some time. No information has been given on the new map outside of this, but the post also states, “Also, make sure you’re ready to face down fellow prisoners of Warzone in a new Gulag experience.”

There’s a ton of content coming to the multiplayer modes as well.

“Prepare for an incredible amount of free content in Black Ops Cold War, including new multiplayer maps, new and fan-favorite 6v6 modes and playlists, the return of 2v2 Gunfight with four new maps, and a massive new Fireteam map. This offering includes a battle through a sprawling luxury complex within the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. That’s right: the legendary Call of Duty: Black Ops II 6v6 map known as Raid will be ready to play in Black Ops Cold War at Season One launch.”

New maps, modes, and weapons, which Black Ops Cold War desperately needs. Many players felt that Cold War was lacking game types and maps due to how well the previous installment of Call of Duty had been so jam-packed with content by the end.

There will also be a few additional free weapon bundles for players to pick up in the store when the season launches. No additional cost necessary, so be sure to grab them when they go live.

There will be a patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on December 8, which features some quality of life improvements, but the full patch and seasonal content doesn’t come until December 15, so be sure to clear up some hard drive space before then!
